Ichi "Lumi" - She/Her - Female

"Maybe this is all there is." "It'll all be alright, right?"

Life was given to the world. For the first time? The last? The girl awoke. No one understoof her. She didn't understand. All she had was Zero, someone who had never left her, even when times were difficult. "They don't understand," it told her, "they wouldn't understand. You'd be lost without me." "I know," she'd respond, "I know."

Yet, she couldn't shake it. Had they hated her? Why did Zero stay? Why didn't they leave like everyone else? These thoughts drove her into a frenzy. She obsessed over it. "Why me?" She stopped eating. It wasn't like anyone would care. Could care. "Not even the food wants me. I don't want it."

But Zero was there. Zero cared. Zero always did. She hurt herself. She hated herself. "They don't want me. Why would they want me? Why do I want me?" "I do. I want you." Zero would always respond. "I don't see why they'd hate you. Want to hurt you. You're precious to me."

There was a day she escaped for just a few minutes. She stood outside, the warm sun caressing her skin, the grass tickling her toes, and the cool breeze hugging her, pricking at her wounds. Out here, there was nothing to hurt her. She was finally understood. Understood more than Zero could fathom. She was free.

Of course, nothing lasts forever. Zero took her inside. "What are you doing?" it screeched, "they'll kill you, ravage you, far quicker than you could imagine!" No one was out there. How could they hurt her? "I felt understood, she started, only to be cut off by the shrieking voice. "LIES! They're lying to you! Why would you believe them? Why don't you believe me? I've been here as long as you've lied, helped you, protected you, and THIS is how you treat me? I expected better from you, Ichi Lumi." She was sick. The floor swayed beneath her. Was there a floor? It's not like she could hurl. She'd just be a gagging mess. She expected better.
